so many things ive been meaning to write about..

well.. you know me.. henrie.. im.. you know.. i have ideas i might not go through with.. like kartel.net.. sometimes the idea of actually putting effort into something makes it not worth it.. or ?? what?? i cant type right now.. you have no idea how many times i have hit the backspace button.. really.

anyways..

i need to take some pictures with adam. he got his new frame and his bike is looking really hot.. his bike is white, mine is red.. we look pretty awesome together.. maybe. he’s getting a white chain on his, while im getting a red chain.. and with our bar tape (red for mine and white for his) .. were pretty retarded.

colleen and i are still watching a lot of bsg. were on the third season right now.. but we missed razer or whatever the miniseries between season 2 and three is.. we’ll catch up on it later.. maybe..

so google is still hating on me with the ‘henrie’ search result.. i am number four right now.. slipping away. … soon i will be but a ghost to google.

work is going good.. nothing to report there.. well.. maybe.. thatll come at a later day though.

this weekend i start work on the company site

im really excited about this.. i offered to do my companies website.. well.. technically redo the site.. but really everything will be from scratch.. im really excited about this for a few reason.. let me tell you them.

1. ill still have my hourly job. this time i wont have the fear, like i normally do. that once i finish the job, i am not getting paid. previous times ive had the mentality that ‘once i finish this project, i wont be getting a paycheck, so i need to slow down, slack off, and make sure i get paid’.. ill get to alt tab my job! yes!

2. adam and i are going to be teaching each other our skills. he’s going to teach me photoshop while i teach him html.. so this is going to be probably the best site i have ever made. i have some really strong ideas on the looks of the site. and with adam ill actually be able to implement them.

3. mike is awesome. and he said he would help me out with the css tricks he has learned. i know what im doing when i make a site. i feel like i have a good head for design, and semi strong when it comes to the code.. i just rely on google a lot while making the sites. which is fine. but it helps to have someone with more experience than i have when i come across the snags.

in other news..

i really want to start commuting on my bicycle. but i really need to purchase a helmet.. the roads i have to take to work all have speed limits of 40 to 45mph.. which isnt bad.. but can be a bit scary on a bike. especially since ill be doing it five days a week. so maybe this weekend ill pick up a helmet.

but i figured out i should save over 40 bucks a month on gas. and with colleen having a bike now, the only places we’ll be taking our car could be to the grocery store, target and our parents houses. so that will cut down on our driving a lot.

i am currently istalling fluxbuntu onto my laptop. i love playing around with linux.. but i always go back to windows on my main machines.. sad.. i know. but its cool. maybe.

anyways. the download went really fast. 450kbs. so within like half an hour i had downloaded, burned to disk, and am now installing.

your vegas/ fiction plane/ the bravery

last thursday colleen and went to the blacksheep to see your vegas/ fiction plane/ the bravery. well. actually. we went to see the bravery, i got a free ticket from geoff, so it cost 15 bucks for both of us to get in. not bad. in the line we ran into bruce, which was pretty rad, he seems to be doing really good. and let us (colleen, bishop and me) to cut to the front of the line.

your vegas sounded really clean.. but they sounded way too much u2.. like not/ oh they sound like u2, but different enough that it actually sounds good/ .. no. .it was like ‘zomg theyre ripping them off so bad’

i really did enjoy fiction plane though. the lead singer turned out to be sting’s son.. which was pretty rad. he has a great voice. we even got our picture taken with him..

it was taken with my phone, so quality really sucks. oh well.

we only stayed for three songs of the bravery.. it was pretty awful, but whats to be expected i guess.

wordpress 2.5 problems

i *finally* upgraded my wordpress. which was pretty pain free. next time ill be sober when i do it though. made it a lot harder. the new interface is amazing. its so much faster than it previously was. nothing. of course. compared to textpattern. which i still miss. but the ease of use with wordpress is really nice.

unfortunately it is a broken release. which is really lame. i can not upload pictures without a huge workaround. (going to be ftp-ing and html-ing pictures in until i figure it out)

this thread has a solution, ill have to work on it later tonight.

starting the long ripping process

yesterday i started ripping my vinyl collection. this is going to take awhile. the first album i ripped was yoko ono with jason pierce (of spiritualized)

i decided to start working on singles (12 and 7 inches) first. as i wont need to break up as many tracks. as thats a pain. though. audacity is amazing. you can pretty much rip any format to any format.

right now my dilemma is what format to use. right now im ripping it to .wav

but thats gonna kill my hard drive really fast. but mp3 really is inferior.

oh well. im sure i wont notice the difference that much.. right>?

or maybe i should get the adapter and put that extra 250 gig hard drive in i have laying around.
